Old Florida Structures Photographs Collection
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of approximately 120 unframed sepia and silver prints of Central Florida architecture and artifacts taken by Richard Spencer. Spencer photographed historic houses and buildings in Central Florida in hopes of "capturing the unique character that each projected to me." Some photographs focus on specific architectural details or elements that drew the photographer's interest. It is possible that some of these structures may no longer be standing and most date from the late nineteenth century.

Biographical or Historical Information
These photographs of old Florida structures and artifacts were taken by professional photographer Richard Spencer. Spencer has worked as a photographer in the Office of Instructional Resources, University of Central Florida, since 1971. Spencer's works have appeared in a variety of newspapers and magazines, and he has received several awards for his photography. Spencer has exhibited his work with Ansel Adams at the International Gallery in Winter Park.

Richard Spencer donated these materials to the University of Central Florida Libraries, Special Collections and University Archives in 2002 (CFM2002_06).

Processed by Nadine Helm; finding aid prepared by Lindsay Mazziotto. Each photograph was placed in protective plastic and foldered according to the arrangement.
