with some reflections on the resistance made to King Charles I. and on the anniversary of his death: in which the mysterious doctrine of that prince's saintship and martyrdom is unriddled: the substance of which was delivered in a sermon preached in the West Meeting House in Boston the Lord's-Day after the 30th of January, 1749-50. : Published at the request of the hearers by Jonathan Mayhew, A.M., pastor of the West Church in Boston. [Eight lines of quotations]. Two states noted. In the first, verso of half-title is blank; in the second, there is an "advertisement" signed J.M. and a five line errata statement on verso of half-title.Also known as: Discourse, concerning unlimited submission and nonresistance to the higher powers. Half-title: Mr. Mayhew's discourse wherein the mystery of King Charles's saintship and martyrdom is unriddled. Running title: Of King Charles's saintship and martyrdom.
