“The Intimacy of Plastic Consumption” is an investigation of human plastic consumption through the lens of visual arts. Through the exploration of plastic consumption it has become evident that we are involuntarily consuming plastic through our water, food, and the air we breathe. This consumption can lead to the possibility of long-term health effects, including scientific research that has shown plastic to have an almost instant effect on lung cell tissue. My exploration into this topic takes the form of video documentation of physically eating plastic against an abstract latch hooked form.
