Abstract:
Lithologic and gamma logs of 59 holes augured to the top of the limestone Floridan aquifer in northwest Hillsborough County were used in conjunction with laboratory analyses of samples of deposits. A confining layer of dense clay underlies the surficial aquifer separating it from the Florida Aquifer below. Leakage occurs through the confining layer as well as through perforations in the confining layer.
